This is a family recipe passed on by my Great Auntie Annie who lived independently until the age of 100. She eventually passed away at 102.
8oz Butter
4-5oz Icing Sugar
6oz Cornflour
6oz Plain Flour
Beat the butter until soft & add icing sugar.
Beat well.
Carefully mix in the flour & cornflour and knead well.
Makes 2 rounds about half a centimetre thick or make biscuits.
Bake at 160 degrees until very pale golden.
This recipe is best in a non-fan oven and is also best if not made in a mixer.
Rob's Local Honey is a year round must-have.
Honey is a great natural source of pre-biotic goodness and a natural sweetener which has been used for centuries to relieve winter ailments such as colds.
During the Spring & Summer it has traditionally been used to alleviate hayfever too.
We love Rob's Local Honey since it is ethically produced. During winter, the bees are left with sufficient honey to survive along with "fondant".
Minimally filtered and treated, Rob's Local Honey is Raw Honey.
HayMax is just fabulous and can be easily used throughout the day to relieve that "about to sneeze" sensation and to block pollen from entering your body.
Safe for pregnant women and children too. Just pop some into their school bag, it's that simple.
Airborne allergy expert & creator of HayMax Pollen Barrier Balm (and our friend) Max Wiseberg explains how you can help yourself to feel better naturally.
HayMax and A.Vogel Pollinosan are my "go to" products during the spring when my hayfever is particularly bad. It's tree pollen that sets me off! and without these two products, life can be miserable.
Pollinosan is a homeopathic non-drowsy remedy which works with the body's immune system.
